BARCELONA · EL BORN
A place dedicated to designing, making and presenting sculptures and lighting pieces.

01 / ELLIPSE
Located in Barcelona’s El Born neighbourhood, Ellipse brings together a working studio and a space for presenting sculptures and lighting pieces. Work moves from research to making, from experiments to finished pieces. Other artworks and conversations about gesture, manual and digital design open up new avenues to explore.
The studio is open by appointment and during scheduled activities.
02 / WORKS
Ellipse presents works designed and made by MtotheP, the space’s founder. Her sculptures, objects and lighting pieces sit alongside the distinctive worlds of invited artists. Their forms, materials and approaches meet, suggesting other intentions and narratives.

03 / WORKSHOPS
Ellipse’s sculpture workshops invite you to make a personal sculpture, without following a prescribed model or needing to arrive with a clear idea. Artistic references, suggested gestures and a few constraints guide a gradual process. Experiments, transformations and successive choices help each participant bring a form into being and develop their own piece.
Sessions take place on the second and third Wednesdays of each month, from 6 to 8.30 pm, in small groups of up to six people. The language of each session is listed in the programme. No previous artistic experience is required.
The price is €45 per person, materials included.
04 / PROGRAMME
Workshops, encounters and presentations exploring sculpture and lighting pieces shape Ellipse’s programme. Opportunities to discover practices, share research and continue the conversation.
